Security Industry Shines Spotlight on Eddie Reynolds
Much like light is vital to our video surveillance solutions, Edwina “Eddie” Reynolds has become vital to the security industry. A security veteran of 25 years, Reynolds has worked to push her company and herself to new levels of success. Since founding iluminar in 2009, the business has grown to become a leading manufacturer and global supplier of infrared and white light illuminators, along with license plate recognition products. Did we forget to mention that Reynolds and her team have accomplished all of this in an industry that in the past has lacked diversity and opportunity for women? Most likely, you already know of Eddie Reynolds and her work, but if by chance you don’t, be prepared to see a lot more of her.
At the upcoming Securing New Ground conference, taking place October 25 and 26 in New York, Eddie will be speaking on a panel that will discuss the challenges of today’s leaders within the industry. On Thursday morning, Pierre Racz of Genetec and Stefan Widing of HID Global, will be speaking alongside Eddie as they discuss everything from technology disruption and labor shortages, to the automation of jobs and intelligent machines. The three will face these topics and more head on during, “The View from the Top: Challenges for Today’s Security Industry Leaders” session at 8:10 am on October 25. Eddie was also appointed to the SIA Executive Council and was recently chosen as the first-ever recipient of the SIA Progress Award, which celebrates the advancement of opportunities and success for women in the security industry. She will be recognized at the upcoming SIA Honors Night on November 14 .
Reynolds was also recently chosen to be a judge for the upcoming IFSEC Global 2019 “Top Influencers of Security and Fire.” The international panel of judges, drawn from across the industry, will have the duty of choosing a winner who they believe has played a key role in driving technological innovations, changing standards and regulations, shaping industry debate, and who has helped to raise the industry’s profile. A few notables judging alongside Eddie will be Jerome Pickett, CSO of the NBA; Abeer Khedr, CISO of the National Bank of Egypt; and Anders Hemli Rimstad, CSO of Aker ASA.
With a passion for growth and industry collaboration, Eddie is continually leading iluminar to develop strategic partnerships that advance the mission of security across all applications. Along those lines, iluminar will be working with Point 7 Group (Point7), a certified Women’s Business Enterprise (WBENC) that provides a variety of services, including facility design, to cannabis businesses throughout the U.S. and abroad. Eddie will lend her expertise to Point7, providing iluminar’s external illuminators as well as security installation recommendations for the various facilities.
